Companies who issue shares using Aktionariat’s technology will be able to register digital securities “seamlessly” in the regulated central securities depository of the SIX Digital Exchange (SDX).
With an aim of “further developing the digital ecosystem for issuers and institutional investors”, the two companies announced their collaboration in a press release last Thursday. They claim it should tackle the issue of access to capital for growing companies.
“By being able to offer a wider range of custody options, companies can expand their addressable investor base,” the parties promise.
Aktionariat is among the growing number of actors exploring how investments in private companies can be made more liquid and easy to administrate through the use of distributed ledger technology. This could open private markets for smaller investors.
