PostTrade 360° Oslo saw BNY Mellon’s Lory Kehoe and Paula Avraamides come on stage for a fireside chat on the future of banking – in the light of new capabilites that are coming in with the digital assets.
Lory Kehoe is global director of digital assets and blockchain, while Paula Avraamides is managing director of global client management, both at BNY Mellon.
BNY Mellon has recently announced plans to be the first global bank to build a multi-asset platform to service the rapidly evolving digital assets space. The discussion went into the ongoing institutionalization of digital assets and how the investment services area is evolving to meet new investor needs.
Lory Kehoe is highly enthusiastic about the opportunities for radical change to the financial systems. One of many examples is how relief money could be programmed to go straight to individuals according to particular criteria, with full transparency for the payer that it ends up in the right pocket.
