Rules for registration and regulation of security-based swap execution facilities are long overdue, says Gary Gensler, chair of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.
According to a Reuters article, Gary Gensler would like to see the rules for such derivatives harmonised with similar ones already in use with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He pointed out that crypto tokens priced in connection to the value of securities should also follow securities law, also when the platform that they are offered on is a decentralised one.
