The European Supervisory Authorities (ESMA, EBA, and EIOPA) have published their Joint Committee Annual Report for 2024, with digital operational resilience and securitisation topping the agenda.

As the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) moved closer to its application in early 2025, the ESAs have delivered key technical standards and supervisory frameworks to support its rollout. The work included detailed guidance, a joint feasibility study on ICT incident reporting, and preparations for an EU-wide Oversight Forum, expected to launch this year.

Securitisation

Meanwhile, the ESAs also wrapped up a broad assessment of the EU Securitisation Regulation (SECR). Drawing on data from national authorities and market participants, the review surfaced persistent implementation issues, particularly around sponsor definitions, disclosure standards, and rules for risk retention. These insights have been forwarded to the European Commission as part of a broader legislative review process.

Chaired by ESMA in 2024, the Joint Committee also coordinated across sustainable finance, consumer protection, and systemic risk areas. But for post-trade professionals, the intensified attention on operational resilience and securitisation may prove the most tangible takeaways.
