Bitcoin mining firm Marathon Digital Holdings has selected digital asset custodian Zodia Custody for the provision of international custody services. With this partnership, Zodia becomes Marathon’s fourth custodian, bringing “greater diversification, and risk management” to the table, according to Zodia’s CEO, Julian Sawyer.

As an institution-first digital asset custodian, Zodia will be providing “secure, bank-grade custody services” for Marathon’s Bitcoin holdings outside of the US. Marathon is one of the world’s largest publicly traded Bitcoin miners; the collaboration is a part of its plans for expansion and for securing the Bitcoin ecosystem.

In addition, Zodia will also “deliver additional risk management assurances such as insolvency-remoteness and secure cold-wallet storage with 24/7 availability to move at the speed of the market”.
