Come New Year, Bjørn Sibbern will take over as CEO of SIX Group, after Jos Dijsselhof, who leaves the group after seven years with it.
Danish-bred Bjørn Sibbern joined SIX Group a year ago to head its international exchange business. He came from 16 years with Nasdaq, the last five of which in the role of its President for European Markets. (He was a speaker with PostTrade 360° several times.)
The news was published in a SIX press release on Thursday.
Jos Dijsselhof moves on to “pursue a new professional opportunity in the Middle East after seven years with SIX”. The release does not indicate more precisely where. SIX chairman Thomas Wellauer states that Dijsselhof has, since joining as CEO in 2018, “played a pivotal role in developing the company commercially and expanding its international presence. He successfully implemented the strategic realignment of SIX with the sale of the card business to Worldline and further diversified the company’s business portfolio”. It was under his management that SIX acquired Spanish stock exchange group BME, including its central securities depository Iberclear.
