First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and Komainu have completed an instant, two-way digital asset transfer through a framework they jointly set up for institutional digital asset custody.

Komainu is a regulated digital asset services provider and custodian. According to a press release from the firm, the successful transfers indicate that the integration of regulated digital asset custody and connectivity capabilities into FAB’s existing infrastructure is now operational.

The framework has been designed with a degree of futureproofing in mind and can eventually support lending backed by digital assets. The collaboration is a part of FAB’s digital asset programme, which also includes tokenised deposits and the Swift ledger.
