Deutsche Börse has revealed plans for Digital Assets Business Platform, a new solution targeted at institutions, reports Ledger Insights. The platform aims to “make tokenised assets fungible for institutional customers”.

The stock exchange mentioned in its annual report plans to “build an ecosystem for digital assets that is operated on the basis of an institutional value chain, using native digital infrastructure components in the cloud”. It intends for the new platform to conform to recognised standards in the industry and service a variety of asset classes.

Although details are scant, Ledger Insights speculates that the solution will involve a general tokenisation offering that will enable the tokenisation of existing securities, funds or assets. The hypothesis is based on the fact that Deutsche Börse’s subsidiary Clearstream already has D7, a platform for native digital securities issuance.
