Euroclear has announced Valérie Urbain as its new group CEO, succeeding Lieve Mostrey, who has been leading the CSD operator since 2017. Valérie Urbain will step into the role in May 2024, after a transition period and the renewal of the Euroclear board member mandates on 3 May.
A familiar face at Euroclear, Valérie Urbain has been with the firm since 1992. Since 2021, she has been the group’s chief business officer, overseeing its commercial and product development. Prior to that, she has held a number of positions in the group, including CEO of Euroclear Bank, CEO of Euroclear ESES CSDs, and chief people officer.
