Broadridge will provide on-chain shareholder governance and digital transfer agency services for the New York Stock Exchange’s (NYSE) planned tokenised securities platform, subject to regulatory approval. The integration will connect tokenised shares with shareholder communications, proxy voting and transfer agency services.

According to a press release, the NYSE platform will use Broadridge’s governance smart contracts to link securities to meeting agendas, voting rules and verifiable results. Investors will be able to vote through supported digital wallets, broker interfaces or Broadridge’s ProxyVote platform, with wallet authentication used to verify voting entitlements.

Broadridge’s digital transfer agency service will also allow NYSE-listed companies to tokenise their shares for trading on the platform. The move is part of the NYSE’s plans to connect tokenised trading, clearing and shareholder governance within a single platform.
