Goldman Sachs has begun using EquiLend’s 1Source distributed ledger technology (DLT) platform for securities finance, joining BNY and National Bank of Canada, EquiLend announced.

The platform is designed to provide a shared record of securities lending and financing transactions, with the aim of reducing reconciliation work, transaction breaks and associated costs. BNY and National Bank of Canada began transmitting live transactions to the 1Source ledger in October 2025, according to EquiLend.

Reconciliation and settlement

Developed by EquiLend with input from market participants, 1Source is intended to establish a single source of transaction data across participating firms. The company says this can reduce accrual errors, lower third-party comparison fees and improve settlement rates.

EquiLend added that other counterparties are also in the process of adopting the platform. Wider participation is expected to reduce the need for reconciliation between firms and the number of transaction discrepancies.

Rich Grossi, EquiLend’s chief executive, said Goldman Sachs’ participation would help extend the platform’s benefits across the securities finance market.
