Two weeks after announcing his departure at BNY Mellon as head of tokenisation, Benjamin Duve discloses on LinkedIn that he has joined the European Central Bank (ECB) as lead market infrastructure expert in the market infrastructure and payments directorate. He will help the ECB formulate its long term vision for tokenisation of money and assets.

Duve joins the innovation team, led by Holger Neuhaus. “I will spend my time looking at all aspects around issuance, post-trade, collateral, and wholesale payments (both domestic and cross-border) and the roles the central bank plays to derive a vision for the future of capital markets and wholesale payments”, says Duve on his LinkedIn.

Before his 2,5 years at BNY Mellon, Duve had been employed at Commerzbank since the beginning of his career, his most recent role being head of digital assets and custody.
