The future arrived Wednesday morning. At least in terms of post trade topics in focus for Sweden’s leading conference, taking place Wednesday and Thursday 6–7 March.
By Tuesday evening, 293 professionals were signed up for the PostTrade 360 conference which features a two-day program rich with top-level speakers.
Future – close and more distant
Ongoing changes in business, technology and regulation will be extensively covered. Wednesday morning saw Loren Lesko, policy officer of the European Commission, line out what is to expect of regulation, going forward.
But the foresight would reach even further into the future. A technology keynote by Magnus Haglind, head of product management with Nasdaq’s market technology, looked into the prospects of ”hyperconnected” post trade markets, as applications in the ”cloud” become easy to integrate.
And so far the conference had only reached the first coffee break …
Diversity pays off
The potential business benefits of people diversity and inclusion in financial services was in focus for Åsa Nilsson Billme, responsible for the area at Nordea.
Plenty of cases and talks guarantee delegates a good amount of takeaways – not to mention the chances to socialize with old and new friends in the breaks. And plenty more attention is paid to potential future game changers such as blockchain technology and even quantum computing.
Senior presence
The days are hosted by senior industry profile Göran Fors, whom we recently interviewed.
Other interviews we have made in advance with speakers from the program were with Johan Toll of Nasdaq Technology, about his blockchain-based DvP solution in Singapore, and with Thomas Nilsson of FCG Fonder about the drivers behind his company’s ”fund hotel” business model.
