Promising to “make markets more accessible”, Nasdaq dresses its offer of real-time exchange data, index and fund data in a new tech dress.
Named the Nasdaq Cloud Data Service, NCDS for short, the new offer is running over Amazon Web Services, AWS. Through the use of open-source standard APIs (application programming interfaces), and a software development kit, Nasdaq aims to shorten the stretch for clients – eliminating “the need for hardware procurement, proprietary protocols, file formats, and leased lines”.
The new service is able to connect clients to various existing data products. Though it runs on AWS, it can be called on from various other cloud platforms used by clients.
