Standard Chartered has acquired full ownership of its majority‑owned crypto‑custody unit, Zodia Custody, and will fold the firm’s regulated digital‑asset custody activities into its Financing and Securities Services business.
The move brings the bank’s digital‑asset servicing capabilities under a single operating model within the Corporate & Investment Bank.
As part of the deal, Zodia Custody will separate its institutional digital‑asset infrastructure platform and transfer all related assets into a newly created entity, Zodia Solutions, which will sit under SC Ventures. Zodia Solutions will continue to provide bank‑grade digital‑asset infrastructure to financial institutions—including Standard Chartered—supporting clients as they launch and scale digital‑asset services. The new entity will be backed by a group of bank investors, including existing Zodia Custody shareholders, reinforcing the institutional‑grade model underpinning the platform.
