SIX has launched a new climate data offering that gives its clients access to data sets covering more than 33,000 companies across a wide range of industries. The company revealed in a press release that the new product is an expansion of its existing coverage of fundamental ESG data as well as regulatory risk data.
The diversity in SIX’s latest offering was achieved by bringing together data sets on regulatory, historical, and forward-looking climate impacts from established providers such as MSCI and Inrate. The global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions dataset by global environmental data disclosure platform CDP has also been included.
SIX claimed that high quality and well integrated ESG data, information services, and solutions are all the more valuable now, given the increased emphasis on climate risk reporting. As Martina Macpherson, SIX’s head of ESG Product Strategy and Management, Financial Information pointed out in a statement, “the cost of compliance is increasing – both in operations and in terms of specialist ESG resources”.
