JPMorgan Chase & Co has named Teresa Heitsenrether its chief data & analytics officer, heading up the new data and analytics unit in the bank. According to Bloomberg (paywalled), the appointment was announced in an internal memo from the firm’s CEO Jamie Dimon, as well as COO and president Daniel Pinto. The move is a part of the bank’s push into artificial intelligence (AI), which Jamie Dimon has called critical to the company’s future success.
Teresa Heitsenrether comes from more than three decades with JP Morgan. This Reuters report states that in her previous role as global head of securities services, which she held from 2015, she contributed to the division’s revenue growth of more than 22 percent, and assets under custody growth of almost US$9 trillion. She will be succeeded by Tim Fitzgerald.
