The International Securities Services Association (ISSA) has appointed Sam Cauvain-Welsh to its board, according to an ISSA statement.

Cauvain-Welsh has worked at J.P. Morgan since 2010 in a range of securities services product management and product development roles. ISSA said his experience includes custody settlement, asset servicing, cash management and digital assets, as well as work involving data and artificial intelligence.

The appointment comes as ISSA increases its focus on issues including AI, cyber security, accelerated settlement, operational resilience and digital transformation in post-trade markets.

Experience in securities services

According to ISSA, Cauvain-Welsh has been involved in platform development and operational efficiency projects during his time at J.P. Morgan.

In the statement, Margaret Harwood-Jones said his experience in custody operations and emerging technologies would be relevant as the association continues its work on developments in securities services.

Cauvain-Welsh said he was joining ISSA “at such a pivotal time for our industry” and referred to “the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of post-trade and market infrastructure.”
