Robbert Booij will be chief executive officer of Eurex Frankfurt AG from 1 July, replacing Michael Peters who will be retiring. Robbert Booij comes from the role as Europe region CEO at ABN AMRO Clearing Bank, which he has held for six years.

Per his LinkedIn page, Robbert Booij has been with ABN AMRO Clearing for 13 years, including five years leading its London branch. His education can be tracked back to master degrees at the universities of Amsterdam and Utrecht. He says he knows Eurex well from his current role, through which he has been the Chairman of the Eurex Exchange Council.

Going by the Eurex org chart, the Eurex Frankfurt AG entity includes Eurex Clearing AG as well as Eurex Repo GmbH, and is the operator of Eurex Deutschland, an exchange under German public law. In turn, Eurex is owned by the Deutsche Börse group, which also includes German CSD operator Clearstream.

Michael Peters leaves the Deutsche Börse group after first having joined its Deutsche Terminbörse business in 1991.
