Same-day issuance and automated straight-through processing are among the features as German CSD operator Clearstream opens a new platform for fully digital post-trade processing.
Themes in the news announcement may feel familiar for delegates to PostTrade 360° Copenhagen in late September – where Deutsche Börse’s managing director of issuer services and new digital markets Jens Hachmeister lined out his view on the topic. A full-session video of his presentation is available here.
Over 80 percent of Germany’s securities will be eligible to be digitised over the centralised digital register by mid-2022, says Clearstream, who calls its new platform D7.
“The D7 platform paves way for same-day-issuance and paperless, automated straight-through processing for the entire value chain of issuance, custody, settlement, payment and asset servicing for digital securities,” it states.
