German private bank Berenberg has deepened its collaboration with Clearstream, extending a 20-year relationship to include fund distribution support, custody consolidation, and centralised management through Clearstream’s platform. The expansion is aimed at simplifying Berenberg’s operational setup in its Wealth Management division, says Clearstream in a press release.

By moving more processes onto Clearstream’s infrastructure, Berenberg seeks to make its fund processing more efficient across the trade lifecycle, from execution to post-trade and trailer fee handling. The setup also consolidates custody and gives access to a wider range of international funds and markets.

For Clearstream, the deal adds another major European wealth manager to its fund services network. The company said the collaboration enables Berenberg to focus on investment advice while relying on Clearstream for standardised processing and regulatory compliance.

Efficiency

Berenberg described Clearstream as a long-trusted partner and said the new arrangement should help improve distribution processes and reduce operational costs. Both firms emphasised the efficiency gains expected from tighter integration, though financial terms were not disclosed.
