J.P. Morgan has appointed Diane MacFarlane as global head of Securities Services Sales, succeeding long‑time executive Keith Slattery, who will retire later this year after a 38‑year career in financial services. Slattery, who has led the global sales organisation for the past four years, will remain with the bank as an advisor to Tim Fitzgerald and the Securities Services management team.

MacFarlane steps into the role after five years leading Securities Services in EMEA and overseeing Depositary Services, during which she also served on the EMEA Management Committee. With more than 25 years at the firm, she brings extensive client and product expertise and will join the Sales & Research Management Team while continuing to sit on the Securities Services Management Team. She and Slattery will work closely over the coming months to ensure a smooth handover.

Her appointment triggers a further leadership shift, with Hannah Elson expanding her remit to lead EMEA Securities Services and Depositary Services alongside her global custody responsibilities. Elson, a 28‑year J.P. Morgan veteran, will also join the EMEA Management Committee. Regional heads Thomas Brand, Arne Martin Moen, Martin Wallmann and Fearghal Woods will now report directly to her as the business continues its growth push across the region.
