VIDEO INTERVIEW | Joining the first day of Swift’s Sibos conference in Toronto, we meet Alex Dockx, Head of Custody Industry Development with JP Morgan’s Securities Services, for this 9-minute video interview. Watch it here! Hear him describe how he sees the different change drivers impact the space and how different stakeholders could brace for it. Also, learn why the new ISO 20022 messaging standard could be worth taking a closer look at before the post-trade industry takes it on wholesale.

Touted as the new messaging standard that is more data-rich, integrated, and secure, ISO 20022 has seen increasing uptake by market infrastructure providers, including CSDs and the European Central Bank’s (ECB) Target2-Securities (T2S) platform. Yet, there remains a lot that has to be done to encourage the post-trade industry and intermediaries such as custodian banks to jump on the bandwagon.

We meet Alex just before he joins a panel session titled “Can securities market infrastructures march in step to ISO 20022?”, together with:
Chris Burke, senior vice president and head of Fedwire Securities, Federal Reserve Financial Services,
Anna Kulik, secretary general, ECSDA, and
Holger Neuhaus, head of market innovation and integration division, ECB, under moderation by
Karin Deridder, head of Standards Development, Swift.
