A fresh 18-page guide on how to onboard a new custodian for segregated accounts is the first release as ISDA starts publishing a four-part “collateral management transformation toolkit”.
How could your operational processes for collateral management become more efficient? That is the key question as the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) sums up how its member firms, and possibly others too, could approach their process transformation needs in this area of ever-stronger focus and rapid change.

The effort builds on a previous publication, in 2017, of an ISDA report on how it saw the “optimal future state” of collateral processing. Having digested those insights, the association now launches its tools for each of four operational collateral management topics. The custodial onboarding process was mentioned, with the subjects to follow being:
• portfolio reconciliation/dispute management,
• collateral settlement automation, and
• digitizing legal documentation and streamlining into operating systems.
