VIDEO | How can issuing corporations translate their ESG efforts into metrics that feed into the spreadsheets and make a difference on the valuation? This was one of the questions discussed in a Tuesday morning panel at PostTrade 360° Copenhagen, featuring Bankinvest’s Thorsten Meyer Larsen, SEB’s Lars Eibeholm, and Nasdaq’s Sylvester Andersen.

Lars Eibeholm, Head of Sustainable Banking with SEB Denmark, emphasised the relation between the ESG finance efforts and the corporate communications overall. When you commit financially to sustainability targets, you will be put under scrutiny – offering a chance to make your group’s transition better known and understood among the public and investor community.

The EU taxonomy is meant to standardise the language around corporate sustainability work, so that “greenwashing” is made impossible, and efforts and outcomes become comparable. Even so, it can still be hard to navigate the broad array of metrics and indices out there in the financial market.

“There is a risk we all create our own metric scales,” said Thorsten Meyer Larsen, CFA, Head of ESG with Bankinvest.

Many sessions from PostTrade 360° Copenhagen will later be published at videos, so consider revisiting this article in a few weeks.
